- The product has not been installed, fitted, used or modified.
- The product is in its original, unused condition.
- The product is returned with all original packaging, accessories and components.
- The product is suitable for resale.
Change-of-mind returns are subject to approval by DIY Motorsport.
Return postage costs for change-of-mind returns are the responsibility of the customer.
Original shipping costs are generally non-refundable for change-of-mind returns.
Certain products may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns where they have been specially ordered, custom-made, modified, or otherwise supplied specifically for the customer.
2. Vehicle Fitment & Incorrect Products
DIY Motorsport provides vehicle and product fitment information to assist customers in selecting the correct parts.
If you are unsure whether a product is suitable for your vehicle, please contact DIY Motorsport before purchasing or installing the product.
For vehicle-specific products, we may request the vehicle VIN, registration details, engine code, transmission code or other vehicle information to confirm compatibility.
If DIY Motorsport has supplied an incorrect product, please contact us before installing, modifying or using the item.
Where DIY Motorsport has supplied the incorrect product, we will arrange an appropriate replacement or refund and cover reasonable return shipping costs.
Where a customer selects the incorrect product based on incorrect or incomplete vehicle information supplied by the customer, the return may be treated as a change-of-mind return.
3. Faulty or Defective Products
If you believe a product is faulty or defective, please contact DIY Motorsport as soon as possible.
We may request:
- Photographs or videos of the issue
- Installation information
- Vehicle details and modifications
- Diagnostic reports or fault codes
- Installation or servicing records
- Inspection or return of the product
This information may be required to determine whether the issue relates to a manufacturing defect, installation, compatibility, vehicle condition or another cause.
Where a product is found to have a fault covered by the Australian Consumer Law, DIY Motorsport will provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with your consumer rights.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement or refund.
4. Warranty & Automotive Installation
Where a product is supplied with a manufacturer's warranty, DIY Motorsport will assist with the warranty process where applicable.
Products should be installed by a suitably qualified person where appropriate and in accordance with the manufacturer's or DIY Motorsport's installation instructions.
DIY Motorsport may not be responsible for failures or damage resulting from:
- Incorrect installation
- Incorrect servicing procedures
- Incorrect vehicle fitment
- Misuse or abuse
- Neglect
- Improper maintenance
- Modification of the product
- Modification of the vehicle
- Installation of incompatible components
- Use outside the intended application
- Racing, competition or other extreme use where the product is not intended for that application
Where a product is installed incorrectly and subsequently damaged, the product may not be eligible for a warranty remedy unless the underlying issue is otherwise covered by the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Modified & Tuned Vehicles
Automotive components may be affected by modifications, tuning and increased vehicle performance.
Where a vehicle has been modified or tuned, DIY Motorsport may request additional information when assessing a product issue.
Examples may include:
- ECU or TCU tuning
- Increased boost or power
- E85 or alternative fuels
- Upgraded turbochargers
- Modified drivetrains
- Aftermarket suspension or braking systems
- Competition or track use
- Other significant vehicle modifications
A modification or tune does not automatically remove a customer's rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
However, where a modification, tuning strategy or vehicle setup has caused or contributed to a product failure, the resulting damage may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty or other voluntary warranty.
6. Diagnostic, Installation & Associated Costs
Where a product issue is suspected, customers should contact DIY Motorsport before carrying out significant additional repairs, replacing other components or incurring substantial diagnostic or installation costs, where reasonably possible.
This allows DIY Motorsport the opportunity to assist with diagnosis and determine the appropriate course of action.
DIY Motorsport does not generally cover labour, installation, removal, diagnostic, towing, transportation or other associated costs where a product is found to be faulty.
However, where the Australian Consumer Law requires DIY Motorsport to reimburse reasonable consequential costs, those rights will be honoured.
7. Product Inspection
Where reasonably necessary, DIY Motorsport may require a product to be returned for inspection before determining the appropriate remedy.
A product may be inspected by DIY Motorsport, the manufacturer, supplier or an appropriately qualified third party.
Where a fault is confirmed, DIY Motorsport will provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law and any applicable manufacturer's warranty.
8. Returns Process
To request a return or warranty assessment, please contact us with:
- Order number
- Customer name
- Product details
- Reason for the return or warranty claim
- Description of the issue
- Photos, videos or diagnostic information where relevant
Please do not send products back without contacting DIY Motorsport first.
Once approved, we will provide the appropriate return instructions.
9. Refunds
Where a refund is approved, it will generally be processed back to the original payment method.
Refund processing times may vary depending on the payment provider.
For approved change-of-mind returns, applicable return shipping costs remain the customer's responsibility.
10. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available to consumers under the Australian Consumer Law.
Our returns and warranty policy operates in addition to, and not instead of, your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
If you believe a product has a problem, please contact DIY Motorsport so we can assist you with the appropriate next steps.
